Spotted: Anthropologie on Disney Channel, Oprah Show, and Hartford Commercial

I love seeing Anthropologie on TV, especially pieces that I own. I feel like I have some sort of connection to whoever is wearing an Anthro piece. It seems as though I only watch the Disney Channel, but I do know that there are other Anthro pieces featured on other TV shows and such. Disney Channel is just always on at my house whenever I'm bored so I guess that's a lot. It also intrigues me how Disney stylists can style sophisticated Anthro pieces in a young, funky way.

Sonny is wearing the Clinging Blossoms Cardigan for the 2nd time in the episode "New Girl," just in the different colorway. You can see her wearing the other colorway in this post. Sorry for the bad quality, but this is a new episode so there isn't really any good screen caps out there yet.

Harper is wearing the Swan Song Skirt by Leifsdottir in the Wizards of Waverly Place episode "Journey to the Center of the Mason."

Kristina Kuzmic-Crocco is a finalist on Oprah's "Your Own Show." She's paired the In the Trees Skirt with the Volante Tee. When I saw her walking out on the Oprah show I just about died. I own this skirt and am waiting out for sale on the top. This pairing is genius and it makes me want to wear this skirt soon!

While I was watching a football game today I spotted this chick sporting the Trickle Down Top from a Hartford Auto Insurance commercial. I thought this was particularly funny and random because the commercial was about cowboy boot purses.

Top 10 from 2010: Shoes + OOTD: Anthrofying Gravity

I saved the best for last...SHOES! Before this year I didn't own one pair of shoes from Anthropologie. It's so hard to believe because shoes are my kryptonite. Every time I go on a website I look at the shoes first. I only owned one pair of nice leather boots before this year also and Anthropologie filled my fix for unique leather boots. I am so ecstatic with this list of shoes/boots and can't wait to wear them out!

  • Studded Scale Boots
  • Loose Rein Boots
  • Bowtied-Beauty Boots (The only pair I paid full price and worth it!!)
  • Pebbled & Primped Boots
  • Sawtooth Myrtle T-Straps
  • Hallowed Halls Oxfords
  • Carved Celadon Heels
  • Rensselaer T-Straps
  • Anticipation Heels
  • Slinking Frills Pumps
Here is my OOTD. I named it Anthrofying Gravity because I wore this outfit to see Wicked! I thought it was fitting since my blog's name is based on the musical. We were sitting in the 2nd row and it's like seeing a whole different show. I've seen Wicked 5 times and I've been in the first row and the last row and everywhere in between and I have to say that the 2nd row is the best to me. This cast is magnificent and I highly recommend seeing it if you're ever in Chicago.

(Help me get that dang bent frill out!)

Top 10 from 2010: Cardigans and Skirts

Cardigans and Skirts are essential to my every day life. I seriously don't know what I would do without them. Before this year I only shopped at Anthropologie for cardigans or skirts. Even when I surfed the website I would only look at cardigans and skirts. Crazy! I can't believe I did that haha. I knew Anthropologie held beautiful shoes (tomorrow's post) but I couldn't afford them. I didn't know about the Anthro blog community for all the great sale posts, so I was clueless. Cardigans are pretty much my weakness..I guess so are skirts too. I was kind of forced to wear skirts because I'm a Baptist and I went to a Baptist church/school and currently go to a Baptist college so skirts are required. Don't get me wrong, I love pants but skirts make me feel pretty and girly so no rebellion from skirts here! Unfortunately, I can't find any worthy highlight pics of my wearing any of these items, but if I find any I'll update this post.

  • Sculpted Anemone Cardigan
  • Dwarf Quince Cardigan
  • Pick a Bunch Cardigan
  • Remaining Lilies Cardigan
  • Field Game Cardigan
  • Clinging Blossoms Cardigan
  • Precious Materials Cardigan
  • Blooming Lattice Cardigan
  • Felted Lei Cardigan (retrieved from an EA community member!)
  • Cartography Cardigan

  • Fluttering Pencil Skirt
  • Marston Sweater Skirt
  • Acting Out Skirt
  • Tria Sweater Skirt
  • Higgledy Piggledy Skirt
  • Peppered & Striped Skirt
  • In the Trees Skirt

Top 10 from 2010: Dresses

Before this year I only bought dresses for special occasions. Anthropologie came out with some beautiful dresses this year, so I could not resist. Even if I didn't have an occasion to wear the dress at I had to have it. This year my eyes were opened to shirt dresses/casual dresses. I always loved skirts, so dresses weren't really part of my every day wardrobe. Casual dresses are so easy and laid back and I can't believe I've never tried them out until this year! Below my list of dresses are some highlights of these dresses. I've also added some highlights to my tops post from yesterday so be sure to check those out too!

  • Discovered Lace Dress
  • Babergh Dress
  • Manor Gates Dress
  • Rosettes-and-Ruffles Dress
  • Cooling Magma Dress
  • Lotus Awakening Dress

OOTD: Christmas Boots + My Super Sale Splurge

I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas. I know I did! I really wasn't expecting to get a lot of presents this year for some reason, but I got more than I thought I would. Even if I didn't I still would've been happy because I love spending time with my family and that time is far more valuable than presents. This is a time to celebrate Jesus' birth and all that He's done for me.

I felt really pretty in this outfit. The Discovered Lace Dress is my fave even though I didn't think it would find itself in my closet. The day it went on sale I went to my local store not thinking that I would find it, but I found one all alone but it was a size 0. In dresses I'm usually a 4/6 so I didn't have high hopes, but it actually fit pretty well so of course I snatched it up.

Along with this amazing dress I wore the ever so unique and fashion forward Studded Scale Boots. When these boots appeared on the website my jaw dropped for two reasons: the uniqueness of the boot and the price! $748?!! Yeah right..these didn't even find a place on my special wishlist of things that I was for sure going to get because I never dreamed that I would be able to get these boots on 1st cut. When the huge sale hit I called customer service and asked the price of a bunch of shoes/boots and I just on a whim asked about these. Lo and behold they were on sale and there were 2 left in my size. I quickly panicked because with the additional 25% off promotion I could quite possibly bite the bullet. To make a long story short, but amazing dad paid for half of the price for Christmas so all I paid was a whopping $150! SCORE!!! I was a bit worried because after I placed the order, I read the reviews and they said that they run a whole size too big and I'm a normal 7.5 and ordered the 38, but when they arrived I felt like Cinderella! Can I just say that these boots are divine. Pretty much all the females at our Christmas party were eyeing and ooing and ahhing over these beauties. Best. Purchase. Ever.

Here's me and my favorite (and only) nephew.

On to the HUGE sale. Boy did that hit me hard! I'm a bit embarrassed to post all my sale picks, but I will anyway! With the additional 25% off and the free shipping it was impossible for me to stand my ground. So here are my picks...
  • Loose Rein Boots
  • Hallowed Halls Oxfords
  • Studded Scale Boots
  • Sculpted Anemone Cardigan
  • Peppered and Striped Skirt
  • Wightwick Manor Dress
  • AG Stevie Cords in wine and grey
I'm also thinking about getting the Plaited Pocket Cardigan in the red and although it's not on sale, I really want the Feather-Clasped Belt. I have both on hold and am stalling to pull the trigger, but I have until today to pick up any sale picks since the 25% off promotion ends today. Oh yeah, and about the whole Anthro sale price change massacre, I was affected only with the Sculpted Anemone Cardigan which CS and several SA's heard my roar about. My Peppered and Striped Skirt had small holes in the back and I paid only $30 for the skirt with a damage discount so I felt that it balanced out the higher price of the cardigan. Regarding everyone else's horrible experiences, I was appalled at how Anthro behaved but what can we do. Hopefully they have learned their lesson. Wow, I've written a lot. Time to get back to work! I sure hope there's not another sale tomorrow!!

OOTD: A Celebrity Christmas + A Revamped Anthro Cardigan

This dress is super special to me because it solidified my love for Gossip Girl. When I first saw this dress on Season 1's "Blair Waldorf Must Pie" I just about died. Lace and ruffles?? You can't just look like that! I wanted this dress the moment I saw it, but I could not find it anywhere online. I pretty much gave up, but then I saw it pop up on a Gossip Girl website and I knew I had to own it no matter the price. For me this dress is a Gossip Girl icon piece. I would love to own the Trina Turk cape that Blair pairs with this dress, but for now I am completely satisfied with this winner. I wore this dress to my office Christmas party where I sang 3 songs while I was sick so it wasn't the greatest but I still gave my all.

I feel that this dress is lucky for me because I wore it on my birthday last October. My boyfriend and I went downtown to an amazing sushi restaurant and guess who was there...Mario Lopez!! Brave as he is, my boyfriend cut in front of other people as Mario was leaving the restaurant just so I could get a picture with him. Can I just say HUNK!! Anyways, I love this dress and I will wear it every chance I can get because it's effortless chic.

In This Outfit:
Dress: Marc by Marc Jacobs Dita Lace Dress
Shoes: Poetic Licence
Pearls: Tiffany's
Tights: Anthro

Now on to the revamped anthro cardigan. I saw a new version of the Remaining Lilies Cardigan, which I own, and I have to say I'm not really feeling it. I love the original and I just don't feel like Anthro needed to revamp such a perfectly good cardigan. It looks like they had some plain cardis left over and some random felt and stuck it on the cardigans. If anything, I think the original should have been released after the newer version because the original colors suit winter/fall whereas the newer colors suit the spring. That's just my opinion. You be the judge.

OOTD: ♫Oh Christmas Tria, Oh Christmas Tria♫ + A Present for Me!

When I got home from driving back from school after my last final, I was surprised with a little box from my favorite store. I'm so pleased to be one of the lucky ones who received this bangle to promote Anthro's new accessories store!

I've been waiting for this skirt to go on sale ever since I first saw it in a store before it hit the website. Luckily, I snagged one in my size when it went on sale and an added bonus, I was able to get a price adjustment today because of the amazing, caught-off-guard additional 25% off sale promotion at Anthro! So instead of paying $128, I paid just over $50! What a steal for a perfect skirt. I also noticed that I'm wearing Anthro from head to toe today haha..I honestly don't know how I lived without this store.

Top: Anthro Loosely Looped Tee

Tights: Anthro Minuet in 3/4 Tights
